Coach House Art Gallery and Museum


The Coach House Art Gallery and Museum complex is situated in the main street of Wedderburn, on the Calder Highway approximately half way between Melbourne and Mildura.

The Museum offers a step back in time to a General Store which was built in 1913 as an upgrade to the then existing store which was built in the 1840's, also to see are some old carriages and a blacksmiths shop.

The Gallery has exhibitions which feature mostly local artists. The exhibitions change on a four to five week time table.

There is an entry fee to the museum, although the gallery is only a gold coin donation. Please contact the Coach House Art Gallery and Museum for further information.

Charlton Badminton Club Junior Tournament


The Charlton Badminton Club holds an Annual Junior Badminton Tournament on the second Tuesday of the July school holidays each year.

Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles are played in Under 11 First Year Players, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, and Under 17 age groupings. The age is taken as at 31st December in that year.

Round Robin mixed doubles are played first, followed by round robin doubles and then, depending on numbers, either knockout or round robin singles.

Trophies are presented at the completion of each type of event.

Charlton Badminton Club Ladies Tournament


The Charlton Badminton Club conducts an annual Ladies Badminton Tournament on the second Friday of school term three in each year.

Commencing at 9:30am, and finishing by mid afternoon; it is a graded, round robin tournament, so you will have a variety of partners and opponents. A pleasant day's exercise is assured.

There are five badminton courts in the stadium.

Charlton Lawn Tennis Club Annual Tournament


The Charlton Lawn Tennis Club holds an annual three day tennis tournament over the Australia Day weekend on 16 grass courts. There are Open, A, B, C and D grades in each event of mens and ladies singles, mens and ladies doubles and mixed doubles. An over 35 changing partners doubles event is provided on the singles day for those who do not wish to play singles; an under 14 event is also held on similar lines.

Mixed doubles are played on day one, singles on the second day and doubles on the third day; all events are on a round robin format, guaranteeing everyone at least three sets each day they play.

The club has excellent facilities, an extensive shade area fully enclosed by a child-proof fence, with all catering provided over the weekend. The tournament has a friendly family atmosphere and Charlton is located on the Calder Highway and on either side of the Avoca River.

Accommodation is provided by a B&B, two motels, two hotels, an en-suite caravan park and a caravan/tent park. There are a number of coffee/eatery options.

Enjoy a relaxing weekend in the country.

Loddon Visitor Information Centre


Come to Loddon Visitor Information Centre, it is in a region where families are valued, breathe in the fresh air, sit around campfires, walk the family pet, sip award winning wines or watch sunrises and sunsets.

The Loddon Tourism Area is situated adjacent to the City of Greater Bendigo and forms part of the Goldfields and the Murray tourism regions. Covering an area of 6,700 square kilometres, and containing attractions varying from Aboriginal sites to early European settlements, goldfields, lakes, State and National Parks, and nature reserves.

The region is mainly unspoilt and can offer visitors an experience in unhurried holidaying whether this is for an extended stay or a brief visit. The towns still bear authentic streetscapes from the gold rush era and the State Parks are still in their natural state.

The Loddon Tourism Area can offer a base for visiting large areas of Central and Northern Victoria, and can be easily reached by road from Melbourne, Bendigo or Mildura via the Calder Highway, or from Echuca and the other Murray River towns via the Loddon Valley Highway. The roads within the region are generally quiet and provide easy peaceful driving. Public transport also services most of the towns within the region.

Recreational facilities abound across the Shire. Sporting options for the visitor include golf, water skiing; lawn bowls bushwalking, bike riding, tennis and fishing. You may wish to browse through local shops or visit wineries and museums.
